Nicole Miller did a bit of time traveling at her Friday night show.

First she reached back to the '70s with a Jimi Hendrix-inspired rocker girl chic collection that included fringes, ruffles, minis, patchwork, crushed velvet and even a guitar print. Natch, floppy, wide-brimmed hats topped off the whole boho look. and a soundtrack that featured some serious Hendrix riff enhanced the vibe.

But Miller, who is known for her prints and patterns, looked forward as well with a lovely series of high tech digital floral prints, some seemingly etched into the garments.

“I love blending modern technology and old techniques,” she said in her notes.

It all seemed to work. An important front row buyer gave it the nod, and said, “That’s really cute,” and two young Nicole Miller customers wanted everything, although they had no idea who Jimi Hendrix was. Arghh.
