Peter Som goes color happy
What a lively fashion wakeup call at Peter Som’s 9 a.m. show at the M.A.C. and Milk Studios on West 15th, where Som’s eclectic customers will celebrate spring 2011 with, yum, lots of juicy color.
This runway boasted joyous floral brocade dresses in violet – one with a strawberry shirt tucked beneath – girlish but chic.
There were bold prints in deep colors, such as a swirly marbled pattern in rich green, a snakeskin in flamingo. A fluffy lemon cocktail frock was completely comprised of organza flowers (ok, seen it before, but like it), tweed panels (Popsicle-colored) enhanced a slim sheath, and a zany neon “postcard” pattern (one ensemble was a bikini top and short) may evoke a “wish you were here” sentiment (as in their closets) from Som’s customers.
