Mama, get the smelling salts! Celeb stylist and reality show star Rachel Zoe, front row at Prabal Gurung, looked like she might faint from the pure beauty set before her on Gurung’s runway. (Something for Demi Moore? Kate Hudson?)
It was only last season the young designer fantasized about dressing Michelle Obama (oh, yeah, done that) and this expert show underscored how very major league he has become.
The clothes were brilliantly crafted and totally scene-stealing. Gurung opened with graphic intarsia pieces in eye-popping sky blue and poppy red. And how brainy to use a coral “neuron” print on a silken dress – this with hand-draped sleeves – delicate yet show-stopping. Silhouettes were super lean (be a body beautiful to wear this stuff) and hemlines hit that odd place on the leg – mid-calf. Wonder how this will read on real girls, and we’re not talking Demi or Kate.
