Project Runway's fashion overload
Another dizzying faux finale from the folks at "Project Runway." It all started out well enough – Nina Garcia, Michael Kors, guest judge Jessica Simpson (wearing dove gray chiffon and sequin cocktail dress by Michael Kors) and the magnificent Heidi Klum decked out in an orange three-piece pantsuit (amazing) strode down the runway for their close-ups.
But it was downhill from there as 10 designers – seven of them decoys for the real finalists – showed off their eight-piece final collections. We’re talking 80 looks, people!!
It was all too much to process. Notable: Gretchen Jone’s arty collection, called “Running Through Thunder,” featuring giraffe prints, textured green patent leather and intricate cuts, Mondo Guerra’s Betsey Johnson (she was there)-meets-Mardi Gras line inspired (so honest) by “having fun,” and Andy South's "dream-inspired" work – he attempted to bring statues to life and featured some clever wire headdresses. Oh, yes, and then there was Casanova – Vegas to the max – say cheese.
