"Project Runway" kicked off its 10th season Friday night with a runway show in the middle of Manhattan's Times Square.

Host Heidi Klum stunned in a green silk cocktail dress as she welcomed the crowd to the season premiere.

Mentor Tim Gunn and judges Michael Kors and Nina Garcia joined Klum on stage to view the designs. Guest judges were "Parenthood" actress Lauren Graham and Patricia Field, costume designer for "Sex and the City."

The runway show was the first challenge for the designers, who showcased two creations each. Models showed off uniquely shaped dresses, sheer tops and bright, fun colors. A crowd favorite was a hot pink floor-length dress with a mile-high slit and cutout back.

"Project Runway" season 10  airs July 19 on Lifetime.
