Reem Acra: Red Carpet and more

Three major stars wore Reem Acra to the Golden Globes this season: Madonna, Jennifer Lopez and Diane Lane. So it was no surprise that about half the looks the designer sent down her runway were red carpet-ish particularly an art deco- nspired beaded number and a very nearly naked job in a black with a huge sheer panel running almost the lenght of the models body.
The other half of the 36-look collection dedicated to “feminine power,” (a popular theme this season) was more grounded in reality. It opened with second-skin leather hunter green sheath that does require a commitment to your elliptical machine. An ebony pencil skirt worn with a chunky boyfriend sweater was more forgiving as were metallic-flecked tweeds.
All in all a lovely show that had Acra customers in the audience ooohing and ahhhing.
