Renee's in Mattituck offers more than just sectionals

Some customers spend hours in Renee’s huge main store in Mattituck. You can buy stylish furniture, lighting, accessories, wall art, clothing for the whole family and be fitted for a rented tuxedo all under one roof.
And across the street, there’s the recently-opened Renee’s Outdoor, where backyard furnishings are sold year-round.
“They can buy a gift, shop our sales, buy a new wardrobe and furnish their living room all in one place,” says Renee's owner Debra Gildersleeve, 58. She adds that at the new outdoor store they can find whatever they need to create a backyard oasis they can enjoy throughout the year. “People are using their outdoor spaces more than ever and they love the synchronicity of the two stores.”
The main store, owned by Debra and her husband, Bill, 63, of Mattituck, is named after her mother Renee, who opened the shop in 1978. The outdoor store was added this year and is owned and run by the couple’s son, Will, 25.
Debra says she developed an eye for fashion and interior design while spending much of her life working in retail, including as a buyer for Lord & Taylor, and over the years loyal customers have been coming to the main, 30,000-square-foot store for just about everything they need for their homes and closets.
“Between the clothing and home furnishings, we have something for everyone,” Debra says. The main store includes a 60% off salesroom for clothing, and designer discounts are always offered on all home furnishings. Free design services for customers are also available.
Most of Renee’s customers are between 35 and 75 years old and many are second homeowners, Debra adds.
“They are looking for casual, transitional, modern, cozy interiors for either their primary or beach home,” she says.
Prices at the main store range from $15 for a candle to $10,000 for some sectionals.
