Rent the Runway opens first Manhattan showroom
Rent The Runway, the popular online destination for renting high-end designer dresses and accessories at a fraction of the cost, has set up shop with their first showroom in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood.
Described as the Netflix of fashion, Rent the Runway allows members to borrow outfits for upcoming weddings, birthday parties, or other fashionable events.
Registration is free and members are allowed to borrow items for either a four day or eight day period. Since online dress shopping can be tough, members can have an extra size in the same dress sent to them for no additional charge.

But for those who still can't commit to renting something without trying it on first, the new showroom brings Rent The Runway's virtual experience to life. When shoppers arrive for their appointments, stylists will work with them to help them select the perfect look from more than 50 different styles and accent pieces. Have specific dresses from the site in mind? Reserve them in advance and they'll be waiting for you when you arrive.
A stylist will help customers pick out the perfect accessories for their dresses.
The showroom will host a rotating assortment of pieces by Rent The Runway's 175 designers, including Nicole Miller, Nina Ricci, Vera Wang, Moschino, Missoni and many others.
Customers can try on and rent dresses including this Moschino Cheap and Chic dress.
