Revel North Fork boasts Greenport pride with apparel, hats and more

A summer in Greenport isn't complete without a seaside cocktail, a fresh lobster roll, a day at the beach and … town-pride headgear.
One of the local boutiques behind the caps is Revel North Fork, a town shop known for its fishing and farming gear and East End-inspired clothing. “We have probably up to 50 different style caps," says owner Jennifer DiVello, a former advertising product designer who creates all the shop's clothing designs. The summer hats, she says, "have become really popular."
Each hat has a different logo, about half of which are Greenport-centric with North Fork designs, including Greenport’s global coordinates, beach themes, anchors, fishing lures and beaches.
“There’s a variety of different graphics, and we’re always coming out with new ones,” says DiVello, adding that one of the latest features “Greenport” in boat rope text. “Everything is 100% custom … We don’t do template-based art.”
The Long Island designs are also found on popular duds like tops, sweatshirts, shorts and long-sleeved T-shirts featuring a North Fork crab, a tractor or an ice cream cone with names of nearby towns.
The shop also makes its own soy candles with local seasonal herbs, obtained from DiVello’s mom’s farmstand, which come in 17 different scents, like The North Forker, Strawberry Fields and Greenport Getaway.
There’s an assortment of hand-painted signs of different towns and beach scenes, done by local artists. Greenport artist William Knoeller creates carved stainless steel art designs of whales, fluke and other sea creatures mounted on beach wood, which are perennially popular.
“It’s an honor when we see lifelong locals representing our gear as well as those who are visiting and appreciate all that our amazing area has to offer,” says DiVello.
Prices start at $10 for a local mug and $32 for a hat and go up to $400 for a local carving. Revel North Fork is located at 10 Front St., in Greenport. The shop is open Monday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; 631-616-9128, revelnorthfork.com.
