Richard Chai's dancerly clothes

Easy and breezy sums up Richard Chai’s Spring 2011 collection, called "Love," and inspired by dance – ohhh how Lincoln Center! 

Loads of floaty layers in a serene palette of blue, white and nude included some unusal pairings, such as culottes over jeans…ahem…though this is how dance-rehearsal girls put it together.  Weirdest piece of the show grounded many a look  – slouchy leggings made out of  nude nylon showing off shapely legs. Maybe they’ll become all the rage – who knows? 

In the meantime, models must have appreciated Chai’s comfy-looking (and cool) oxford shoes in metallic leather. Real girls will, too.
