From hosting food and clothing drives to donating a portion of sales to local charities, these stores, spas and pop-ups are offering ways to help those affected by superstorm Sandy while you shop.
The Council of Fashion Designers of America and Vogue have put together an online auction at CharityBuzz.com, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to relief organizations in the tri-state area and the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City. Prizes include a meet and greet with Michael Kors at New York Fashion Week and a $10,000 shopping spree, a "Project Runway" finale screening with Heidi Klum, a prestigious DKNY fashion internship and more. Auction closes Dec. 20; at charitybuzz.com/fashionforsandy.
Port Washington-based fine jeweler Glenn Bradford just launched his new, customizeable "Word Art" collection, and he is donating a portion of sales to the Women's Fund of Long Island Hurricane Sandy Relief Effort through Dec. 25. The store wil also host a shop for charity event from 6-9 p.m. Dec. 1, with wine, hors d'oeuvres and a raffle with 100 percent of proceeds going to the cause.
