Newsweek/Daily Beast journalist Allison Samuels has turned her 2008 story on Michelle Obama into a book, an attempt (and a title) asking, "What Would Michelle Do?" (Gotham Books, $24). Part style guide, part motivational manual, the book addresses everything from her favorite movies ("Breakfast at Tiffany's" and "Thelma and Louise" are among them) to how you pull off a wardrobe that covers everything from J.Crew to Jason Wu.

Soft tees

The boxy, uncomfortable T-shirts that Hollywood cutie Anna Faris used to wear made her a real "dillweed" -- or so she faux-confesses to blast-from-the-past faux-actor Mr. T in a faux-infomercial touting the wonders of Old Navy's new Best-Tees collection. Got it? The new tees, rest assured, are real -- they launched in March, are softer and better-fitting than ever, come in a variety of shades and cost $8.94 to $12.94; at Old Navy stores and oldnavy.com. -- Joseph V.
