Long Islanders are embracing the crisp autumn air, flocking to apple orchards, pumpkin patches and wineries to celebrate fall.
But there's more than one way to get your seasonal fix. For those who prefer the great indoors, local spas are taking some of the best elements of fall -- think vitamin-packed apples, antioxidant-rich pomegranates and soothing pumpkins -- and turning them into timely beauty treatments.
"Coming out of summer, skin is very dry from all the sun damage," says Judy DeCuzzi, an owner of Sandalwood & Sage Day Spa in Massapequa, where you can get a massage with body butter made from apple cider. "Fall fruits like apples," says DeCuzzi, "have lots of nutrients and enzymes that help rehydrate and revitalize the skin."
1. Spiced Eden Pedicure
This sweet treat begins with a cinnamon-apple sugar scrub to soothe and exfoliate the feet. Feet and legs are then massaged with a moisturizing whipped body cream, also apple-spice scented, with grapeseed oil and vitamins A and E. A warm paraffin treatment seals the deal, leaving your limbs hydrated and ready for the cold winter ahead. Choose from OPI and Essie's fall nail polish shades.

This is vinotherapy -- and not the kind you engage in at home with a bottle of merlot. Grapes, natural exfoliators high in antioxidants, are often used to decrease aging in skin. This body wrap uses the vitamins and other active properties in grapes to hydrate, fade age spots and remove dead skin cells. The treatment includes a massage for the feet and scalp and also benefits sun-damaged skin to help the body recover from summer.
