Swimsuits go formal at Gottex

Nothing makes you want to get your sorry self on an elliptical trainer more than a Gottex show.  And this one, designed by Molly Grad, was no exception. Her notion was (surprise, surprise) accentuating the female form, and boy did she.

Truth told, these particular swimsuits were not the scantiest we’ve seen – high-waisted two-piecers, one piecers and mono-kinis, many of them sort of covered with skirts and flowing caftans.  But models, particularly Karolina Kurkova, who opened the show in a blue criss-crossed number, rocked them.

And speaking of rocks, it’s doubtful there will be much swimming done in the heavily encrusted rock and crystal jobs or the formal black sequin styles (for black tie pool parties maybe?) –  but it really didn’t matter.  The audience loved it.  One enchanted fellow told us, “That was so artistic, so beautiful, and the women.… I’m speechless.” 

Got it.
