Two very different themes, held together by the lightweight fabrics. Her baseball jackets and racer-back tanks, for instance, are made with panels of gauzy mesh netting, sheer but still athletic-looking. Black merino wool knits are paper thin, and cropped at a midriff length. (Yep, it’s cardio time.)
Some dresses and gowns incorporated the sports motif -- like the chiffon number held aloft by a spaghetti strap on one side, a lacy net panel on the other. Ruffles cascaded over the back of a shoulder, like flower petals. But the classic look for the season will be her slip gowns with gauze overlays, hand-painted with water-colory brush strokes. Ah, yes, vintage Vera.
