'Gardens of Delight' tour in Bellport

Garden tour season is in full swing, and the Bellport Garden Club is holding is "Gardens of Delight" event on Saturday, June 16.

Here's how it works:

Purchase a $20 ticket (bring a friend and get two for $35) in advance at The Bellport, It's Only Natural, The Variety Mart or Pamela Lerner Antiques (all on Main Street in Bellport Village) or on the day of the event at the Gazebo, on the Village Green at the corner of Bellport Lane and Bell Street.

Arrive at the Gazebo at 1 p.m. on tour day and you will be given a map for the tour, which is self-guided.

Each of the seven gardens on the tour are on private properties adjacent to the Great South Bay, and all are within walking distance from one another, should you choose not to drive. One of the residences -- no word on which -- will be providing complimentary refreshments.

The event is rain or shine, and should you need more sustenance, here's a list of places to grab a bite in the area.
