The glow of annual outdoor light shows make for a dazzling holiday decorations geared to warm your heart and make your season bright. Here are some slated to return this year:
SHIMMERING SOLSTICE Walk-thru event features seasonal lights and sounds set along Old Westbury Garden’s paths leading you through the Walled Garden, Rose Garden, South Lawn and Allée, Nov. 20 through Jan. 9, 2022, $32.95, $17.95 ages 3-17; $29.95, $16.95 ages 3-17 off peak; shimmeringsolstice.com. MAGIC OF LIGHTS AT JONES BEACH Pack everyone into the car and experience "Magic of Lights" a holiday drive-thru that takes you down winding paths filled with sparkling lights, holiday themed displays and familiar holiday characters. The display fills the night sky starting at dusk Nov. 13 and runs through Jan. 10. Featured themed light displays using LED technology and digital animations include the "Blizzard Tunnel" as well as other returning areas. Also see the Toyota Mega Tree Spectacular. $25 per vehicle in advance and $30 at the gate: 5-10 p.m. Mondays-Thursdays; $35 at the gate: 5-11 p.m. Fridays-Sundays, closed New Year's Eve. BAYVILLE WINTER WONDERLAND Walk around an outdoor holiday Winter Wonderland park, 8 Bayville Ave., surrounded by decorations and lights. Attractions include ice skating, Toy Factory Fun House walk-thru, photos with Santa and a letter sent to your child from Santa. Santa is behind a plexiglass barrier for safety. "Holiday Express" train ride, the Christmas tree forest and holiday character meet and greet as well as holiday arts and crafts. Opens Dec. 3 through January 2. LONG BEACH HOLIDAY LIGHTS ON THE BOARDWALK Take a walk by the ocean and experience a nautical-themed holiday light display along the Long Beach boardwalk, dusk to 11 p.m. daily Dec. 3 through mid-January, from Long Beach to National boulevards, Long Beach. LUMINOCITY FESTIVAL "Shine Again," is a lit up winter wonderland walk-thru featuring displays in the Town of North Hempstead with illuminated works of art, including one-of-a-kind handmade sculptures, 4:30-8:30 p.m. Nov. 12 through Jan. 9; 4:30-8:30 p.m. Thur.-Sun. and Dec. 22-23, closed Nov. 25 and Jan. 6, Whitney Pond Park, 7 Community Drive East, Manhasset, tickets will be sold for timed admission entry.
