CRUISE - WITH BRET

Sure, everybody needs a vacation - for Bret Michaels, it's going to be a working vacation next year.

The rocker and reality-TV star is hosting a four-day rock and roll themed cruise Nov. 10-14 aboard the Carnival Destiny, which will sail from Miami, stopping in Key West and Cozumel, Mexico.

During the trip, fans will have access to a concert that Michaels and his band will put on in the ship's 1,500-seat theater. Various meet-and-greets and autograph opportunities will be scheduled.

VIRTUAL VEGAS

It's a novel way to plan a trip: 3D Travel's new online portal (3dlasvegas.com) uses Google Earth technology to let visitors zoom down the Las Vegas Strip, stopping to check rates at hotels, browse restaurant choices or find an attraction.

The appeal lies in being able to visualize where venues are located in relation to each other, helpful when planning an itinerary. Many locations appear in 3-D, giving you an almost-real sense of what to expect long before the trip begins.

3D Travel's first portal, 3dhawaii.com, launched over the summer. Eight other domestic and international destinations are scheduled to debut in the next 18 months.
