Kidsday: Book any cookie monster could love
We reviewed the cookbook, "Sesame Street 'B' is for Baking: 50 Yummy Dishes to Make Together" (Sesame Workshop). We made samples and let our neighbors try them. The first recipe we made was Elmo's Berry Delicious Blueberry Muffins. They were not too sweet, which was good. We liked them a lot.
The second recipe we tried was Bert's Favorite Lemony Oat Sugar Cookies. These cookies were very delicious, crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside. We brought them into our class the next day, and all the kids loved them. They had a perfect amount of lemon and oat, which made these cookies a fan favorite.
This cookbook had easy-to-follow instructions. It is great for all ages; however, kids 8 and younger will probably need adult help. We loved this book, and you will, too.
Book review: 'Mo Wren'
This book, "Mo Wren, Lost and Found," by Tricia Springstubb (HarperCollins) will touch your heart. It is a satisfying story about a young girl dealing with change and trying to fit in. The story takes place after Mo's mom passes away. She moves to start a new and less painful life. This story has a lifetime's supply of humor. I recommend this book for ages 8 to 10. I personally loved it.
