The Sea Cadets is a R.O.T.C. program based on the Navy. The Sea Cadets have bases set up all over the world. You could even join the foreign exchange program and visit another country. I have been a Sea Cadet for just over a year and we have meetings on the second weekend of every month. During the summer we can go on advance trainings. Some of the trainings are marksmen training, firemen training, P.O.L.A. (cold weather training) and a lot more. Before you can go to the advance trainings, you have to go to boot camp. There are boot camps set up all over the country. The one I went to was at Camp Pendleton in southern California. Camp Pendleton boot camp is a week program that simulates what Navy recruits go through in their boot camp. When we get to go out on the water, we do that through our local Coast Guard.

I got involved in this because my dad is now a Sea Cadet officer. He was in the Navy for 10 years. There is a local branch in Amityville. To find out more about this amazing program, visit the website: seacadets.org

Putting it together

The Ravensburger 3D Puzzle Lighthouse was so much fun to do that I couldn't stop. When I first started the puzzle, I thought it would take me a week, but I was done in 90 minutes. There were numbers on the inside of the puzzle to show where each piece goes, but the order of the numbers was confusing. The order of the numbers would go around the row, then up a row and circle around that row. That was challenging. Overall, I loved doing this puzzle.

I swore I'd never take it down because of how awesome it looks.

Slippering into something more comfortable

Some kids say wearing slippers to school is silly, but it's the best thing I have ever done. Have you ever worn flats or any other uncomfortable shoe? Well, wearing slippers to school is so much easier. You can be comfortable all day. If you're lazy and very tired in the morning, wearing slippers is just easy. All you have to do is just slide your foot right in. I love wearing my slippers. Give it a try sometime.
