Kidsday: Playing MLB12 with a pro

Recently we interviewed Adrian Gonzalez of the Boston Red Sox and CC Sabathia of the Yankees at the Sony Store in Manhattan. They were helping to introduce the new video game MLB12: The Show (Sony). Adrian is on the cover this year, and the game was just released on Tuesday.

We even got to play the game by ourselves for a while and then we challenged Adrian to a game. It was great. We don't know what we liked more, playing with a major league baseball player or just playing a great new game. The graphics were awesome! This game was so realistic it made you just want to jump into the TV and just play. The players in this game look exactly like they do in real life. The background to the stadiums are great. We only got to play in one stadium, but you have a choice of many great stadiums. Oh, yeah, Evan hit two home runs off Adrian!

We asked CC if he plays a lot of video games. He said, "I do. I have four kids. My oldest is 8 and he loves the PlayStation. So we play everything, and I'm sure now when The Show comes out, we would play that, too."

Since we challenged Adrian first, we asked him if he thought the video character looked like him. Adrian said, "Looks pretty close. They did a really good job. They took a lot of pictures of me to make sure they look a lot like me."

We asked Adrian if he agreed with us about how great the graphics on this new game were. He did! He said, "Yes, they're always improving and they're always getting better. These are pretty good graphics, pretty amazing."

CC talked a little bit about what he likes to do when he is not playing baseball. He said, "Just hanging out with the family. Play video games when I'm on the road during the season, bowling, fishing, things like that. Anything active I like to do."

We wanted to know if he liked seeing himself in a video game. CC said, "It's definitely fun to be a part of it. Being able to play with yourself is pretty cool."
