K.I.C., or Keep Islip Clean, is a club in our school in which kids can help keep the earth clean. We collect many everyday items from bottle caps and can tabs to printer cartridges.

Every year, we have an annual Earth Day cleanup on Brook Street in Islip. We plant flowers, trees and shrubs. We raise money for our projects with a bake sale.

This is an opportunity for students to make a difference. The most important thing is that we help the planet.

A parody that makes a stink

Pukey-mon is a parody of Pokémon; they are collectible cards. I enjoy playing with these because they have all types of cards like Scratch-'n'-Sniff.

One day, I opened my pack of Pukey-mon cards, and there was a Scratch-'n'-Sniff card; I almost puked!

I would rate the Pukey-mon card series an 8 out of 10 because some of the Scratch-'n'-Sniff cards stink!

I would recommend them to kids who can handle certain smells and like jokes about Pokémon. They are really hard to find; I got mine at a yard sale.

Combat play

I play Airsoft, a military simulation game using realistic-looking guns with plastic BBs.

When you are in "combat," you need safety gear and equipment such as a heavy layer of clothing and full-seal safety goggles. There are indoor and outdoor arenas. When I play, I have friends play with me: Alex Corozza, Jack McDonald and Michael Darcy.

It's best to play in arenas (there is one in Deer Park, Strike Force Sports), so you can be safe. I hope to see you on the "battlefield."

Little animals, big imgination

I have a collection of little animals. They are mostly 6 inches or shorter. Since I was 5, I have accumulated at least 200, consisting of families of animals from dogs and cats to walruses, sea lions and beavers.

I like to just sit and play with them for hours. I love to use my imagination to come up with stories, such as the time horses needed to migrate because humans were building houses on their land. I always relate the stories to forests being cut down and habitats getting smaller and smaller.
