Kidsday: The unglamourous red carpet
When you hear about the red carpet, you think glamour and perfection. But when we were red carpet reporters, it was not so glamorous. Our teacher told us we were going to interview Justin Bieber at a red carpet event.
When we got there, it seemed like nothing could go wrong. There was a tent over the red carpet where we waited for Justin. It was probably the coldest night of the year, and it was so windy, part of tent blew down. We waited and waited, and two hours passed by and Justin was still not there. The temperature had dropped about 10 degrees and we went from being cold to freezing! Our teeth were chattering and we were literally shaking. One of the waiters from the restaurant brought everyone coffee. It helped a little. Another 30 minutes passed by and finally some celebrities began to show up like Usher, Shaquille O'Neill and Sophia Bush. Finally, Justin walked in! When he walked in, a rush of heat went through our bodies. We couldn't stop smiling because we were so happy he was there and we got the opportunity to meet him. Since he was so late, we were only allowed to ask one question. Right after the interview, we asked for a picture with him, but his security guards pushed him away. Even though it was a rough start, we had the most amazing opportunity and it was worth it in the end.
The magic of twins
Did you ever think that twins have magical powers? I am a twin and I think we do! For example, when I am in pain or sad, I keep it in my head and can handle the pain or sadness. Once, when I got my eyebrows waxed, I felt nothing -- meanwhile my sister was hysterical crying. Another example of the magic is that my sister can read my mind. We were giving ideas in communications class. I would get a great idea and raise my hand. My sister looked at me and raised her hand right away. My teacher called on her and I realized my sister had stolen my idea! I thought it was just a coincidence. Meanwhile, it happened again, twice more.
The last example of the magic is how I always do everything before Victoria, but I always stop, wait for her to do it to have her glory and then I do it again. I started to walk first, but then I stopped for my sister and then continued on to walk. The same thing happened with talking and when my teeth were coming in.
Twins are really magical. It's like they were once one person and became two. You don't even have to be identical to be magical. You just need to be twins. By the way, my sister knew I was going to write this story and she approves.
