To create the newest fashion trend, we think the item not only has to be cool and stylish, but useful as well. Our solution is the Twistband! Twistbands are a fashionable hair tie and bracelet all in one! They were invented by Jessica Frandson, a mother who was frustrated when regular hair ties both damaged her hair and hurt her wrist. Twistbands are made of soft elastic that is very practical for both hair ties and bracelets. The elastic bands will stay firmly in your hair but won't cause unwanted dents when you want to wear your hair down. They come in a variety of styles and colors. There is bound to be one that suits you! They come in tie-dye colors as well as solid colors adorned with phrases, patterns, buckles and rhinestones. You can even create your own. We think these new styles will make excellent additions to the established fashion trends at our school. Twistbands start at the low price of $2 a band. Do you like to wear your hair down? They also have stylish headbands that add a nice touch to any hairstyle. You can order your very own at: thetwistband.bigcartel.com.

My autograph collection

Have you ever gotten an autograph from an idol or someone you were a huge fan of? Well, having an autograph from great players is the ultimate trophy. Autographs mean so much to me, since I am a collector. Here are tips to get the one you really want.

Save up money and purchase them from leading websites or stores (I like steinersports.com). Trade autographs with a friend. Go to a baseball game a few hours before game time and, if you can, go down by the dugouts and wait for a player to walk by.

I have about 30 autographs, and, along with my older brother, Chris, who is 18, we have 70.

A baby boom joke

Once there were four businessmen sitting in a hospital waiting room because their wives were having babies. A nurse comes over and says to the first businessman, "Congratulations! Your wife had a baby."

The man says, "What a coincidence! I'm the president of And 1!"

The nurse comes back and says to the second man, "Congratulations! Your wife had twins!"

He says, "What a coincidence! I'm the owner of the Minnesota Twins!'

The nurse comes back a little while later and says to the third businessman, "Congratulations! Your wife had triplets!"

The man says, "What a coincidence! I work for Triple Crown!"

The nurse comes back and sees the fourth businessman crying.

She asks, "Why are you crying?"

The man replies, "I work for Seven Up!"
