Learn about Native Plants at Hallockville Museum Farm in Riverhead
Looking for a way to spend the first day of spring? How about celebrating with a series of lectures about native plants?
From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, horticultural and plant professionals at the Hallockville Museum Farm in Riverhead will cover such topics as invasive species and alternatives available to homeowners, native grasses and the Long Island Seed Project, which helps local gardeners develop and grow regionally adapted vegetable varieties through seed saving and sharing.
A suggested donation of $5 per person is requested, with all proceeds supporting the educational mission of the museum farm.
