There’s a new kid on the block at the Central Park Zoo.
A baby Mini-Nubian goat was born recently at the zoo. The
fluffy, floppy-eared newcomer is just 10 pounds, but what he lacks
in size he makes up in personality.
Animal Curator Susan Cardillo calls him “funky.”
She says when the kid isn’t sleeping, he’s “bouncing around.”
The Wildlife Conservation Society’s Central Park Zoo brought in
4 Mini-Nubian goats in October 2009 from a breeder in Belmont, N.Y.
The goats are known for their mild temperament and their rich milk.
The adults can weight up to 60 pounds.
The baby goat was born Jan. 12, to Angel. He joins his older
sister in the Central Park Zoo’s petting zoo area.
