Newsday's coverage of Long Island restaurants and lifestyle content earned several awards in a national contest organized by the Society for Features Journalism.

Newsday's FeedMe was awarded first place in best digital presence for the team's work across online, video and social platforms.

Food critic Scott Vogel, multimedia journalist Chris Ware and video editor Susan Yale earned second place in video storytelling for their coverage of Babylon's Shuga Pie dessert shop.

Food critic Erica Marcus was awarded third place in food criticism for her guide to Long Island's best pizza.

Newsday's FeedMe magazine, launched in 2018 for home delivery subscribers (sign up for it here), earned third place in the best niche product category.

Additionally, Meghan Giannotta and Rachel Weiss were awarded an honorable mention in the integrated storytelling category for their project, Working Dogs of Long Island.

The Society for Features Journalism is a national organization focused on "the craft of writing and innovation in lifestyle, arts and entertainment journalism." The Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe and The New York Times are among other organizations earning awards in the 2022 competition
