Even if you decide to go the conventional catering route at your wedding reception, you can still partake in the food truck trend.

With the blessing of the kitchen at the Old Field Club in East Setauket, Kristen and Rob Villacorta of Brentwood hired the Wafels & Dinges truck (wafelsanddinges.com) to serve Belgian waffles to guests as they departed from their Oct. 16, 2011 nuptials. Their photographer, Laura Ryan, loved capturing the surprised reactions on both the guests and as the bride, the groom and their guests were served this unique treat.

"It was so cool," Ryan said. "The bride dug right in. It was the end of the night and she was so comfortable and happy."

Kristen says that the waffles made a lasting impression, too.

"People still talk about it today," she said.
