Runners hit the road again Sunday in the 40th Long Island Marathon.

Three races will be run on Sunday. The half- and full-marathon and the 10K race all start at 8 a.m. at Charles Lindbergh Boulevard in Uniondale, across from Nassau Coliseum, and finish at Eisenhower Park in East Meadow.

The weekend festivities kick off Friday at 3 p.m. with the Sports and Fitness Expo at the Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale. Runners will be able to check in, pick up running and health tips from guest speakers, and learn about the latest in running technology from vendors and exhibitors. Starting at 6:30 p.m., a pasta party will be held at the Cradle of Aviation Museum.

The first races of the weekend are Saturday at 8 a.m., with the 1-mile run, followed by the 5K at 8:30 a.m. and the KidzFunRun at 10:30 a.m.

Shaun McGrath of Lynbrook won last year's marathon in 2 hours, 39 minutes, 43 seconds. Jodie Schoppman of Levittown was the top woman finisher with 2 hours, 42 minutes, 54 seconds.
