Everyone's Gaming Outlet, a new tabletop gaming hub that opened in Levittown earlier this winter  specializes in just about everything today's gamers could want — trading cards, fantasy gameplay and an aura of inclusivity.

"It’s a nice inclusive game store," says owner Kevin Molduene, 44, of Cypress Hills, Brooklyn, during a recent Friday evening, when the room was packed for a Ninja Turtles Magic trading card game release.

Molduene's varied career has included working for Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential run, and pursuing commercial acting in Manhattan, which was halted by the pandemic.

He found a new career path with Da Basement Games, a gamer club he opened seven years ago in Brooklyn and still operates. Both the Brooklyn and Levittown locations are inspired by childhood memories of Sunday pasta dinners at his family’s East Northport home, where relatives bantered as they played board games like Stratego, Monopoly and Risk. Molduene says his game stores are meant "to mimic that sense of camaraderie."

With seating for approximately 70 people on padded church chairs, Everyone’s Gaming Outlet hosts pickup games, leagues ($10 per person includes prizes), tabletop events and occasional game releases.

"A lot of our play is trading card games or TCGs (Trading Card Games)," such as Disney Lorcana, Ninja Turtles, Magic, One Piece, Pokémon and Riftbound, Molduene says.

"Free-to-play and try" TCGs and board games are available so "a customer can come in and learn to play these games at no cost," he says. If you want to make a purchase, single packs of TCGs start at $5, board games at $40.

Among the special events, the store hosts beginner-friendly Dungeons & Dragons "one-time adventures," also known as "DnD One Shots," which cost $20 and are held on Thursdays starting at 6 p.m.

Gamers can arrange a pickup game (PUGs in gameplay argot) and create communities at the outlet's 1,700-member Discord channel, a communications platform that connects game players through voice, video and text features.

Molduene, who himself enjoys a game of Magic The Gathering, Lorcana or Risk, says his stores help people "make real connections." He explains, "I believe we need more game-playing in society, more tables need to set up for new friends to sit at and enjoy each other’s time."
