The Long Island Marathon brings thousands of runners, fans and volunteers to the area, which inevitably means traffic for those driving nearby.

The event, which begins at 8 a.m. Sunday, May 5 at Charles Lindbergh Boulevard, across from the Nassau Coliseum, will close several roadways into the late morning.

The latest closing is scheduled for Carman Avenue, between Old Country and Nottingham roads, which lasts until 2 p.m.

All exits and entrances to and from Wantagh Parkway from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
