An American blonde isn’t a reference to a wartime pin-up, but rather an American blonde ale called Bohemia Blonde at 1940’s Brewing Company in Holbrook, which now has tasting-room hours Thursday through Sunday.

The brewery, founded by Charlie Becker two years ago, is named for the year his father graduated from a beer brewing academy. Becker comes from a line of brewers, with his father and great-grandfather having worked for Rheingold, the New York everyman’s beer, until the company shuttered in 1976. (The label was revived for a few years in the ’90s.)

Jon Brengel joins Becker as a partner, where they’re also brewing the Michelle Jean saison, a Golden Riveter IPA, the I Slip, U Fall IPA made with double the malt and hops, and a German rye brew. Pints average $6 to $8. Food is available through food trucks such as Little Kitchen on Wheels.

The tasting-room hours are Thursday and Friday from 3 to 9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.
