Open since March, 3 Cuzins Asian Bistro & Bar in Lake Ronkonkoma is owned by — you guessed it — three cousins: Jay Lau, George Lau and Anderson Chan. Keeping things in the family is chef Kam Chan, Anderson’s dad, who has been cooking at family restaurants for decades, most recently at China Garden in Commack.

Refreshingly, this “Asian Bistro” doesn’t have a sushi bar. And its menu, which features some Thai, Japanese and Korean dishes, is mainly Chinese.

Here's a sampling of items: pork dumplings ($5), crispy jumbo shrimp with walnuts in cream sauce ($15), Korean style short ribs ($15), General Tso’s chicken ($12), and roast pork chow fun ($9). There’s also a choose-your-own ingredient stir fry with various proteins, noodles or rice, vegetables and sauces. ($10-$14).

Lunch specials, served Monday to Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., include soup and roast pork fried rice or white rice and run $6 to $8.

3 Cuzins Asian Bistro & Bar is at 846 Portion Rd., Lake Ronkonkoma, 631-588-8885.
