AlaTurca in West Babylon has closed.
The casual-chic Turkish restaurant, which opened in 2014, was the brainchild and namesake of owner Birnur Itil.
An accomplished belly dancer, she presided over dance evenings and other cultural events while also keeping an eye on the kitchen, whose refined take on Turkish classics received two stars from Newsday in 2015.
