Two new restaurants are moving into Southampton.
Clyde’s, an American spot, will be the dining room at the Southampton Inn; and Jue Lan Club, an offspring of the Asian establishment in Manhattan, takes over a space on Elm Street that has housed several restaurants.
Slated to open in May, Clyde’s will be serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast items include eggs Benedict, a smoked salmon platter and blueberry pancakes; lunch: hamburgers, a lobster roll, roast turkey club sandwich and Caesar salad.
At dinner, expect Long Island clam chowder, griddled squid, Long Island duck ramen, an asparagus raviolo, fried quail, roasted local striped bass and steak frites. Main dishes are in the $18-to-$30 range.
Asian cuisine and an art gallery in Jue Lan’s night club are among the attractions at Jue Lan Club, the name of which was inspired by a secret 1930s Chinese art club, Jue Lan Society. Jue Lan is scheduled to open on Memorial Day weekend.
Mainstays from the West 20th Street restaurant, such as crystal shrimp dumplings, chicken satay, braised oxtail bao buns and “drunken” sea bass will be on the East End menu. Dim sum will be served on Saturday and Sunday. Prices are comparable to those in Manhattan, with dinner main dishes $24 to $34; appetizers and dim sum, $10 to $21.
