Angelino's
PETER GIANOTTI'S BLOG POST FROM 9/13/2010
Trendless and fad-free, Angelino's in Jericho has been sending out traditional Italian-American favorites since the tall ships sailed in for the Bicentennial and "Rocky" ko'd "Network," "Taxi Driver" and "All the President's Men."
The old-fashioned spot still does, to eat-in or take-out. Service is friendly and prices are, too.
Try the husky, bracing cannelloni stuffed with beef and spinach in marinara sauce, under a mantle of melted mozzarella. It easily could feed two. Or pick steak alla pizzaiola, a tender shell steak sauced with flair. Equally good: red snapper alla Livornese. Angelino's also prepares respectable brick-oven pizzas, Greek and Caesar salads, lasagna, linguine puttanesca and chicken Parmigiana. Lots of hero sandwiches. You can recite the menu before you see it.

A small pizzeria called Angelino's opened in 1976 and over the ensuing years it has grown into a well-appointed, full-service Italian restaurant--that is still happy to serve pizzas and heros and does a brisk takeout business as well.
The menu features soups, salads, appetizers (antipasto caldo al' Italiano, an assortment of seafood antipasto with tangy tomato sauce can serve as an entire meal), individual brick-oven pizzas (pesto thriller, made with pesto sauce and three types of cheese, and pizza primavera, with fresh seasonal vegetables, are favorites), "gourmet" pastas (e.g. spaghetti carrettiera with olives, basil, garlic, spinach, roast peppers, tomatoes and parmesan), chicken and veal entrees, and seafood dishes such as Angelino's deluxe seafood platter: fish of the day, shrimp, scallops, chopped clams poached in red or white clam sauce served over linguine.
Angelino's also does catering; a private room accomodates up to 100 people for showers, communions, christenings, rehearsal dinners, birthdays, anniversaries and corporate events. Off-premise catering is available as well.
