The latest word from Anthony Bruno, the founder of Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza in Woodbury and Carle Place, is that three new branches of the pizza chain should be opening on Long Island within the next few months.

The first, Bruno said, is scheduled to debut in Wantagh in late August or thereabouts at 4812 Sunrise Hwy., the site of a former OTB parlor. Soon to follow will be a Commack venue at 6401 Jericho Tpke., in the Peppertree Commons strip mall. Finally, a new store will be built from the ground up at 90 Northern Blvd., Greenvale, with the launch predicted for the end of this year or the beginning of next.

Bruno, who grew up in Franklin Square, will host a craft beer tasting dinner at the Woodbury restaurant on Monday, April 30. Quaffs from Patchogue's Blue Point Brewing Company will be featured, with company representative Zach Solomon providing insights. The cost of the dinner is $30 a person. To reserve, call  Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza,  8063 Jericho Tpke., Woodbury, at 516-367-2625.
