There's nothing wrong with a plain burger. But fancier can be that much more fun. In fact, when it comes to accessorizing burgers, there's almost no limit to what imaginative chefs can get away with.

At the following eateries, you'll need to open very wide.

At this new fast food spot, the Baja burger is just one of many creative compositions. Fashioned of either beef or black beans, it's crowned with Pepper Jack cheese, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, onion, spicy chipotle mayo and fresh jalapeños and served on a spicy chipotle bun. You can custom-top any burger.

The seductive cheese and heat burger has fresh jalapeños, a sort of slaw made of shredded lettuce, a secret sauce, plus Cheddar and Muenster. Or consider a smoke house burger, piled high with pulled pork, Cheddar and coleslaw.

Iron Chef Bobby Flay's burgers just keep getting better at these bright, informal spots. A recent favorite is the L.A. Burger, topped with avocado relish, Cheddar, watercress and tomato.
