The Brooklyn-based açaí bowl chain, Baya Bar, has arrived on Long Island. The bright and welcoming store opened in Garden City this month, offering bowls, smoothies, shakes and savory eats, too. The franchise, which has more than 20 locations, started in Bay Ridge in 2016.

Customers can grab made-to-order açaí-, pitaya- and coconut bowls that are offered with the usual toppings — fresh fruit, cocoa nibs, chia and flax seeds, coconut shavings, honey, cookie butter and Nutella, among other items. Bowls come in 12 and 18 ounces and start at $8.

About a half-dozen protein shakes ($8.99) are on the menu, too, such as the protein colada (coconut, banana, pineapple, vanilla whey protein and coconut milk and coconut water) and matcha man (matcha, banana, vanilla whey protein, honey and coconut milk), along with a variety of smoothies ($7.99), from açaí and pitaya, to kale and berry.

Multigrain toast ($6-$12) is served elevated by avocado, lemon and sea salt (the Fresco); with avocado, hummus and olives (the Mediterranean); with Nutella, strawberries and bananas; or topped with peanut butter, bananas and blueberries.

Seating is limited to a counter that looks out to the road.

Baya Bar is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily except Sundays when it closes at 7, at 301 Nassau Blvd. in Garden City. More info: 516-486-0431, thebayabar.com
