Live music is among the main courses at Navy Beach on the weekend.
On Friday, July 10, local musician Nancy Atlas will perform a "sunset set," starting at 5 p.m. And on Sunday, July 12, local reggae specialist Winston Irie will be on stage in time for sunset. His set is slated to begin at 5 p.m., too.
Atlas has opened for acts including Crosby, Stills & Nash; Jimmy Buffett; and Elvis Costello. The Montauk resident was raised in Commack.
Navy Beach is, yes, a beachside restaurant, where there are tables on the sand as well as in the dining room. Winning dishes include clam-and-corn chowder, ceviche, the house burger, buttermilk-fried chicken, and a lobster-and-clam bake. And the cocktails are creative and excellent.
