Something soothing, something lush, something to take your mind off everything for a little while would be good this weekend. Therefore: pasta. Here are three restaurants that will make you want seconds.

Bella Vie in Bay Shore is perched on Lawrence Lake. The name mixes the Italian and the French. The pasta is from Fabrizio Perinelli, who first got everyone's attention at the now-closed Arie Melanie at the same address. Recommended: gnocchi in Fontina cheese sauce with caramelized onions and black truffle; pappardelle alla Bolognese, with a veal ragu; lasagna alla Bolognese, meaty and satisfying; paccheri al forno, similar to oversized rigatoni, in pork sauce; duck duo, duck leg confit with sliced duck breast over escarole. Moderate to expensive.

Noble Kitchen & Cocktails in Oceanside attracts you with baby back ribs to chicken Parm pizzas and grilled hanger steak. But check the pasta menu from Pierluigi Sacchetti, the "Gigi" who has since left Da Gigi, a namesake Lynbrook restaurant that earned three stars. Until Nov. 4, he expects to have pasta with white truffles from Alba, enriching fettuccine that has black truffles in the dough; and Taleggio cheese ravioli with fresh truffles. Call ahead. Also recommended: saffron gnocchetti with shrimp and crab in rose wine sauce with pistachio crumbles; and casarecce piccanti, similar to cavatelli, with spicy 'nduja sausage, stracchino cheese, and mint breadcrumbs, Moderate to expensive.
