Here are a few restaurants to check out this weekend:

FROM FOOD EDITOR MARJORIE ROBINS

Beth’s Cafe in Quogue is a small breakfast and lunch place where the tables inside and out are usually full of families out East for the weekend. The Greek omelet with spinach, feta cheese and tomatoes is beautifully presented with a fresh salad and rustic bread ($16). Raves go to the walnut-oat waffles ($15.75) and the lemon-ricotta pancakes ($15.50). Benches outside provide seating for customers waiting for a table. Note: If you choose to sit out on the patio, be prepared to swat down some yellow jackets. Before leaving, pick up some baked goods sold at the counter inside.

FROM RESTAURANT CRITIC MELISSA MCCART

SriPraPhai in Williston Park is a party on a Friday night, with a packed dining room and a short line out the door. It’s worth the wait. Diners are here for bold flavors such as those in the catfish papaya salad, a juxtaposition of concentrated umami, creamy sweet fruit, the crunch of peanuts and a whisper of mint ($12). The larb gai is also compelling: ground chicken, pork or beef laced with fish sauce, chilies and lime ($10.50). It’s rare to feel energetic after a feast, but after eating these lively dishes, you just might.

The waterfront communities north of Huntington — Huntington Bay, Lloyd Harbor, Eatons Neck, Asharoken — are some of Long Island’s prettiest, and a fitting destination for a weekend drive. To keep you alert, swing by Southdown Coffee, which roasts its own beans and prepares them in every conceivable way: drip, press, pull, pour-over, cold-brew. You’ll also find excellent pastries, breakfast sandwiches and more.
