The Bohlsen Restaurant Group will host blue- and-pink themed prostate and breast cancer awareness benefits starting Sept. 26.
Bohlsen establishments include Monsoon in Babylon, Prime in Huntington, Tellers and Verace in Islip, H2O in Smithtown and Beachtree in East Islip.
Monsoon will be the site for a Sept.26 "Wear Blue for the Men You Love" networking cocktail party. For each $25 donation to Integrated Medical Foundation in Melville, a $25 gift card will be given for a meal at Monsoon.
Executive chef Michael Wilson has created a Monsoon menu geared to prostate-cancer awareness from Sept. 26 to 29, with dishes such as brook trout with a Brazil-nut crust, black-garlic duck breast with curried plum jus, and an heirloom tomato tower with shiitake mushrooms.
The Bohlsen group also will host its annual "Eat, Drink and Think Pink October" to support education and awareness programs in breast-cancer coalitions. Pink-hued antioxidants will be highlighted. The include yellowfin tuna with strawberry yogurt sauce, watermelon kimchee with pink soy wrap, skirt steak with pink Hawaiian sea salt, and lobster congee with roasted corn.
A $1 to $2 donation will be made for each "pink" item ordered at Monsoon, Prime, H2O, Tellers, Verace, and Beachtree.
