There was mucho mojo in the tongue taco I shamelessly devoured at The Bravo’s Family Mexican Restaurant in Hicksville. The welcoming Mexican-Honduran eatery also serves up a bright coral-hued tortilla soup studded with chunks of avocado and fresh chopped cilantro. Bravo? For sure.

I came across the colorful spot while driving along a fairly residential stretch of Jerusalem Avenue. You never know what you may find traveling Long Island’s many byroads.
