Roosevelt Field now has a place to get smoked meats, with the opening of the first Brother Jimmy’s BBQ on Long Island.
It’s the debut fast-casual restaurant in the chain, with locations in Manhattan, Westchester, New Jersey and South Florida. Located adjacent to the second-floor Dining District at the mall, the new restaurant offers a small dining room and offers beer and wine.
North Carolina-style barbecue highlights the menu, with offerings such as pork ribs, pulled pork and pulled chicken. Prices range from $9 for a sandwich to $24 for a pound of meat. Sides such as pit smoked beans with pork, mac ‘n’ cheese or collard greens average $4.
Brother Jimmy’s BBQ first opened in Manhattan in 1989 as a sit-down restaurant, touting long and slow smoked meats over hickory and applewood.
The new location is open from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Brother Jimmy’s BBQ, 630 Old Country Rd., Garden City, 212-244-3503.
