Buffalo Wild Wings at Hicksville mall will close

If you’re craving Buffalo wings in Hicksville to snack on during next week's Super Bowl, there will be one less option to consider: The Buffalo Wild Wings location in the former Broadway Commons mall will serve its last chicken wing this weekend. The location will shutter at the close of business Sunday, according to a person who answered the phone Friday morning. The company's corporate office did not respond to requests for more information.

The mall, now called The Shops at Broadway, is in the midst of a $100 million redevelopment that will convert the property into an open air shopping center with a three-story building for restaurants.

Founded in 1982 as a popular spot to watch sports, throw back some beers and eat wings, Buffalo Wild Wings is known for its vast selections of sauces including honey BBQ, Parmesan garlic, mango habanero, Thai curry and Caribbean jerk. Of course, there’s traditional Buffalo sauce in a variety of spice levels. For the wing-averse: Burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken fingers, salads, wraps and sides including fries, mozzarella sticks, onion rings and cheese curds.

In 2025, Newsday reported that the restaurant chain had opened its first quick-service location in Nassau County, part of the brand's new strategy of opening smaller, takeout-focused locations across the country. Those locations are in Bellmore, Shirley and Patchogue. Besides offering convenience, these smaller shops — roughly 1,500 square feet — feature a slightly pared down menu, fewer TVs, a walk-up ordering counter and some seating.

Buffalo Wild Wings also has eight full-service locations in Riverhead, Bay Shore, Centereach, Farmingdale, Garden City, Miller Place, North Babylon and Valley Stream.
