Burger restaurant Holy Cow to open in Rockville Centre

Holy Cow, a new burger-centric restaurant in Rockville Centre, is slated to burst onto Long Island's burgeoning boutique burger scene on Monday, Aug. 3 at noon. The eatery will offer table service as well as valet parking on weekends, said owner Nikk Hamid.

In addition to regular beef burgers, you'll find bison, lamb, turkey, pork, chicken and veggie burgers. Set options, which come with hand-cut fries, include a "juicy Lucy" 8-ounce beef burger with three kinds of cheeses and caramelized onions, an 8-ounce bison burger with blueberry BBQ sauce, goat cheese and marinated onions and a lamb burger topped with Greek salad, feta and tzatziki sauce. You can craft your own burger with one or two 4-ounce beef patties and an array of toppings, some free (lettuce, tomato, caramelized onion, sauerkraut, relish) and others $1 extra (bacon, cheese, guacamole, chili and a fried egg).

A listing of "small plates" includes a kale chicken Caesar salad, a pulled pork sandwich, and mini crabcakes. Also on the menu are hot dogs and milk shakes. Gluten-free and dairy-free options are available, as well. Dishes run $4.95 to $15.95.
