Pass the pancakes and syrup — popular brunch joint Buttermilk’s Farmhouse is set to open its second location Friday, in Bay Shore.
The brand’s first location, on West Main Street in Patchogue, opened in 2018. After working at the Patchogue spot for seven years, chef Alvaro Alvarez will be the co-owner at Bay Shore. He said it took almost three years to open the Bay Shore space on East Main Street, which has room to seat 77 guests.
"We’re on Main Street right by the stoplight, just like in Patchogue, so it’s the perfect space for us," Alvarez said, speaking in Spanish.
The menu will remain the same, offering apple pie pancakes ($14.95 for a full stack) French toast bites ($12.95) and the Hercules ($15.50), an omelet made with fresh spinach, feta cheese, diced tomatoes, scallions and oregano.
The drinks menu includes mimosas, with choice of juice (orange, grapefruit or cranberry) for $8.95. Also on the menu is a Bloody Mary ($9.95) served with an everything bagel rim, and garnished with celery, olives and grape tomato.
The interior design will also be familiar to fans. The new space is adorned with dark wood floors and brown booths that give the space an old-school yet modern touch. There is also a mural with barnyard animals like cows and goats.
"I want to see our guests happy and return," Alvarez said, adding he hopes "to meet all the people who come."
Buttermilk's Farmhouse, 93 E. Main St., Bay Shore, 631-823-0130, buttermilksfarmhouse.com. Open 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.
