Shopping at the mall. Hungry. What to eat?

Came around the bend at the second-floor food court and saw Café Spice Express, an Indian food steam-table eatery recommended in Newsday's guide to eating at Long Island's food courts.

I had the “manager’s special,” two vegetarian dishes — I chose dal makhani (simmered lentils) and saag paneer (fresh cheese suspended in spinach) — with basmati rice and a fountain soda for $6.99. Everything tasted fresh, assertively spiced, entirely satisfying.
