Newly launched in Bellmore is The Clubhouse, situated along one of the South Shore's many canals.

The casual seafood spot is under the same ownership as Amerrickana Tapas & Bar in Merrick and shares its executive chef, Howard Fay. In March, Fay garnered a two-and-a-half-star review for his well-crafted plates at Amerrickana. Currently, he shuttles back and forth between the two restaurants.

For now, dining is indoors only, with the canal and boat slips clearly visible from the dining room. On the menu: Raw bar items, like steamers, mussel pots, clams and oysters; pizzas in such varieties as Margherita and New Haven-style clam; burgers; a lobster roll; a shrimp po'boy; fish tacos; fish and chips and lobster mac and cheese. The moderately priced menu ranges from $7 for a half-dozen raw clams to $24 for a lobster roll.

The Clubhouse is at 134 Clubhouse Rd., Bellmore, 516-308-7750.
